Portchester Sailing Club is a very good location for cruiser sailors and the club offers a range of deep water and half tide moorings. The waters of Portsmouth Harbour, the Solent and beyond offer a variety of sailing opportunities.
Naturally, the most sheltered and closest moorings are more popular and have a waiting list. Shoreside facilities include hard standing for cruisers between October and April, a derrick for stepping and unstepping masts, and a pontoon, which is accessible for around 2 hours either side of high water. Cruisers from Portchester enjoy trips around the Solent, and further beyond. Some of our members have sailed to all corners of the globe. Cruises in company are a good way to expand your horizons, and these are organised regularly.
On the racing side, cruising sailors compete in the annual Interclub series, which combine a good social weekend with a bit of friendly racing. More competitive members also compete in other regattas such as Cowes Week, and the Round the Island Race.

We have a series of rallies during the season. The Folly is one of our favourite locations.

Barbeques .. on the beach or at Bucklers Hard

The Club owns a submersible boat-lifter to allow us to recover boats from the water at the end of the season and relaunch them in the Spring. We store cruisers up to 31ft - 32ft in the Club compound the winter. As space is limited there is always a waiting list.
