The club promotes an active and varied social programme throughout the year. We organise a range of events catering for all ages and for the different members that use the Club. We hold events such as a Halloween party and a childrens' Christmas party and sometimes even a pantomime!! We also enjoy evenings with live music, quiz nights, a jazz and real ale night in addition to a few formal dinners. The annual prize giving dinner and dance takes place in November. This is the occasion when all the trophies that have been won throughout the year are presented. After a three course meal there is music to dance the night away.
The full programme for the year can be found by looking at the Events page.
The club house is open on a range of days as follows:
Wednesday 7.30pm - 11.00pm
Thursday 7.30pm – 11.00pm
Friday 7.30pm – 11.00 pm
Saturday 12.00pm – 4.00pm, when events are on 7.30pm- 11.00pm
Sunday 12.00pm – 5.00pm
Guests are always welcome at the Club. Members' guests should be signed in using the visitors' book located beside the bar. Whilst we enjoy hosting our guests, we prefer regular visitors to become Club members in their own right and for this reason guests are limited to six visits per year each. Guests who are members of other sailing clubs are welcome to arrive by boat but we recommend that they make prior arrangements with the Club to check on the availability of a mooring.
The club also has a galley, a popular Club facility. Steve, Vanessa and their assistants come in and cook food to order as well as catering for special functions.
The opening hours for the galley are:
Friday 8.00pm – 9.30pm
Saturday 12.30pm – 3pm
Sunday 12.30pm – 3pm
The club premises are available to hire for the club members. All you need to do is contact John Bishop on the social committee. The booking of the club premises should always be done well in advance. The booking form can be downloaded here
